Our house

We put our house on the market last week.  No interest so far, but the market is starting to pick up after the winter lull.  http://www.allentate.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?pageid=11&pagealias=ListingDetail&ListingID=2106902&Region=&ListingPosition=1&From=QuickSearch

We went to Duluth this weekend to do some house hunting.  I fell in love with one, but who knows if it will still be available when we actually need it.  It is in Buford, GA, which is where the Mall of Georgia is.  Our realtor's wife said that any store you could ever think of is there.  Sounds like I might need a weekend to myself to find out!  ;)

Bon is out of town again this week.  He will be back Saturday morning.  He will be gone again for a couple of days next week too, I think.  Let's just say that melatonin is my bedtime friend for the older kids.  I got a bottle of 1 mg pills that dissolve and Bon cut them in half.  I give them one half at bedtime and it seems to calm them down and I'm not fighting them to stay in bed, just one more drink, come lay with me, I can't sleep, etc. that is the normal bedtime routine.  I reason that it could be worse.  I could be giving them Nyquil or Benedryll.  Melatonin is already in our bodies, I'm just giving it a boost.  :)

emotions

trying to post this on my kindle while waiting in the carpool line.  hm...why didn't i think of this before?

anyway.  quickly jotting it down that today the realtor is taking pictures and then tomorrow we sit down and do the paperwork to put our house on the market.  very bittersweet emotions right now.  excited for what the future holds, anxious about the present, and sad about all the memories we've made, the friends we'll leave behind.

kind of feeling like sitting down for a good cry and then going out for ice cream.  :)

Holiday Parade

Reagan was in another Holiday Parade this year. Mt. Holly is where she was taking tumbling and they were able to participate in the parade again this year. I'm glad it wasn't as cold as last year, but it was still chilly!

As we waited for the parade to start I snapped a few pictures.

Ryan. So handsome. So ornery. So loveable. :)

I love this one because you can see Ty's eyes peeking back at me as he whispers something into Evan's ear. Up to trouble probably. ;)

And finally, almost the end of the parade comes Main St. Dance Works! She was so excited to be in the parade again, especially because she knew the steps to the little routine they did while they marched.

black eyes

Two of our kids have had black eyes in less than a month.  First was Ty, when a friend's head and his nose collided.  Resulted in a broken nose and left some bruising under his eyes.  More under his right eye than his left one.  Then Evan tried to climb up on our bed and slipped, hit his eye on the box springs and instant swelling and a scrape.  Poor little guy.

Resolutions

Ah, here comes 2012.  Time marches on and the year is going to move forward, whether or not I keep up with it.  It always feels like I have the best of intentions and then I forget or get lazy and nothing gets done.  Then I end up disappointed with myself and/or the situation and just get discouraged and so then nothing gets done because I'm just too sad to do anything!  It's like a catch 22.  I, however, have decided that after watching my mother-in-law chase after my kids with more energy than I had, I needed to do something.  (My comma use is horrible, so please forgive me my English degree'd sister's-in-law.) (and I don't think "degree'd" is even a word.  Since it is my blog, I can make up words.)  AAAAnyway.

I thought I would share with you a couple of my resolutions.

res·o·lu·tion  (rz-lshn)n.
1. The state or quality of being resolute; firm determination.

Maybe it would be easier if I call them "Firm Determinations" instead of resolutions.  :)
1. Lose some weight.  Exercise, eating right.  I'm at my heaviest weight and it's so discouraging.
2.  Make more dinners. We eat far too much quick foods.
3. (this one will make sense if you've seen any Mormonads.)  I wrote this one down on the chalkboard in my kitchen.   "Patience: use it before you lose it."   I need to work on this one a lot because I often feel so short tempered and I hate that about myself.
4. Blog more.  Keep in contact with family more.

So, there you have it.  Call me out on them.  :)
